Student Outcomes Profiles Greg Marifian Residence St. Louis Education BS in Engineering Science, Trinity University Mastercard Manager of Business Development Building a Brand Responsibilities Mastercard is a technology company situated in the payments industry. We work to connect and power an inclusive digital economy that benefits everyone, everywhere by making transactions safe, simple and smart. I work on a team in the public sector space. My team owns a network called City Possible, which is a global urban innovation ecosystem of cities, industry partners, NGOs and academics working together to make the world's cities more inclusive and sustainable. Why Olin? I saw earning an MBA as a necessary accompaniment to my personal and professional brand as well as a next step in academic achievement. Being a full-time employee and professional MBA student has helped me analyze and discover opportunities, polish and apply my skills in the workplace and in class, and grow and diversify my professional network among accomplished classmates, faculty and alumni. A favorite class My favorite class has been the Macroeconomics for Business Leaders elective with Professor John Horn. We were asked to apply course concepts to current events to assess what likely policies would result. The application of skills from the class to real-world present-day events felt right in line with the necessary traits of MBA-caliber professionals. Career prep I’ve acquired stronger managerial skills, explored issues like workplace power and politics, learned to assess the current macroeconomic landscape and gained insights into organizational behavior. I’ve also consulted with Olin career coaches to assess job offers to select which one was best for me.
